I’m Alison, a spreadsheet expert with 30+ years of experience building solutions that help people save time and understand what’s going on in their business.  I founded Excel Confident so I could teach other business owners how they can do this too.

Spreadsheets, when set up effectively, can make it easy to see what the data is telling us.  Being able to make decisions based on data, rather than guesswork, means making decisions that are better for business growth.   

Most business owners will have access to Excel or Google Sheets - I love sharing how to get the most out of these brilliant tools.

Beyond spreadsheets, I am a huge fan of technology and how it can help to make life easier and, as a small business owner, I know how busy life can be, especially when you are having to wear all the hats.

The idea behind the Small Business Tech Clinic was to help take the pain out of tech for small business owners, by introducing them to lots of fantastic people who are enthusiastic about technology as I am.

I’m Lewis, founder of Make Tech Click, where I help small business owners who feel like technology doesn’t work for them — to finally make it click. 

I’ve spent over 10 years working with business owners and professionals who know exactly what they want to do, but get stuck when the tech feels confusing or overwhelming.

My career started in the retail logistics sector at a time when budgets were tight, so I had to learn how to make the most of the tools we already had.

That’s influenced the way I work today — showing people how to get real value out of the software they already pay for, cut down on unnecessary subscriptions, and feel more confident using fewer tools really well.  

The thing I love most is seeing that moment when things just click — when someone's confidence has grown and they are excited about what tech could help them to achieve.

For me, the best result is when clients don’t need me anymore — because they’ve got the skills and confidence to get things done on their own.
